47 Years of Yidish-vokh

Yidish-vokh began in 1975 when Dr. Mordkhe Schaechter brought students from the advanced class from the Uriel Weinreich Summer Program for a week in Camp Boiberik, so they could spend a week immersed in Yiddish. Since then the Yidish-vokh has evolved to become the only Yiddish-speaking vacation spot where students, families, and seniors from all levels of observance can come together for a week to speak only Yiddish. Yidish-vokh is a legitimate need for families who raise their children in Yiddish because it gives the kids a chance to play with peers in Yiddish; an environment that is hard to come by today.
